September 21st - 24th

How did it get to the September weekend so quickly! Primary 1T have worked incredibly hard this first term and everyone is so proud of them. They have shown themselves to be very resilient in coming to Primary 1 after such a long period away from nursery and have coped with the level of work.

We have developed our knowledge of the following sounds:

s      a      t     p    i     n    m     d     g    o    c    k   ck

Alongside these letters we have begun to blend short words and look at the first few common words. This is a skill we will need out whole lives especially when it comes to reading and decoding tricky, unknown words.

All of these words and sounds can be found in the pupils homework poly-pockets in their school bag along with some suggested activities. Thank you for helping with these at home as this really does make a huge difference to the children’s learning and progression.

We have learned to count and draw numbers 0-10 focusing hard on the shape the numbers make. Learning about days of the week has been exciting and using our Callander to help us see the passing of time.

We have worked hard at learning about school rules and emotions and will continue to do this throughout our school lives.
